Thank God: the "Allah's word controversy

Ultra Malays especially from UMNO claim to be the champion, protesting the use of word Allah by Christian,

… but their practical ‘way of life’ might be against Allah’s word. … Cartoon on the left may explain…

The word Allah has been used even before Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him )was born.

Arabic Bible also use the word Allah, similarly our Malay speaking Christian in East Malaysia as well as neighboring Indonesia.

The most important is not the ‘word’ Allah or God, but how we ‘understand the concept’ of Allah and how we practice it.

The common use of Allah as our God is in line with 1 Malaysia concept.
1Malaysia, 1Allah.

One of Rukun Negara's pillar is "Kepercayaan kepada Tuhan" (Believe in God). With the common use of word Allah, it should be read as "Kepercayaan kepada Allah"

Some of my non muslim friend used to say "Alhamdulillah" (Praise be to Allah) when I greet "apa khabar"(How are you), and when I invited for dinner they would say "InsyaAllah" (with Allah's/God willing).

Few months back there was controversy when a non Muslim was reading verses from Holy Quran....Take it positively...
I got many non Muslim friends... They even jokingly advise me to learn Mandarin or Cantonese..."nanti U senang nak berdakwah kepada kami!" (Later it would be aesier to propagate islam to us).
See... our non Muslim friend like to use word of Allah. It is an opportunity to explain to our non Muslim friend about the real meaning of Allah and Islam.

The situation become tense as some churces were reported to be burn and threatened.

"From the star online today 8th Jan 10
PM condemns arson attacks
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has condemned the attacks on the two churches in the Klang Valley. "I condemn these actions because they will destroy our country's harmony," he told reporters. Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said the Government would do everything necessary for the safety of Malaysians, including using the Internal Security Act on anyone who threatened the security of the country "

Comment from malaysiakini portal
"Hibiscus: The controversy regarding use of term 'Allah' by non-Muslims was started by Umno leaders using the Home Ministry. It is a recent invention to create the feeling among Muslims that they need Umno's protection. Statements by Umno leaders seem to be prompting Muslim voters to feel confused and threatened. The issue is even dividing PAS and this is in line with Umno's ploy.

The issue seems to be part of Umno's political strategy in readiness for the next general election. Umno is playing for high stakes - it is prepared to lose the votes of the non-Muslims and of other BN component parties and also to lose all their seats in constituencies where non-Muslims form the majority. All this in exchange for the Muslim vote.
"

This controversy should not be handle emotionally but we should think rationally.
Its a reminder to all of us to really understand the Allah's word. Do we have the real understanding of Allah.

Of course the Christian shouldnt take opportunity to use the word Allah to confuse the Muslims...If they do so, the police has the right to act, ....and the Muslim community should protest.

Else, lets open more discussion to have real understanding about the reality of Allah.

Either you call it Tuhan, God, or Allah.
Allah is the only one God for the whole universe: he has no son and no partner. Allah is Great.
